Uses

This combination medication works by using two different drugs to address both the pain and nausea associated with specific conditions: 

• Naproxen: A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that relieves pain by blocking the release of chemical messengers that cause pain, fever, and inflammation.

• Domperidone: An antiemetic and prokinetic agent that blocks signals in the brain to prevent vomiting and also increases the movement of food through the stomach to relieve nausea. 

The tablet is commonly prescribed for: 

• Migraine headaches, including the associated nausea and vomiting.

• Pain and inflammation associated with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and gout.

• Menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea).

• Other painful conditions, such as dental pain, muscle aches, sprains, and strains. 

Side effects

While generally well-tolerated, some individuals may experience side effects. It is important to consult a doctor if any side effects are persistent or severe.
Common side effects include: 

• Dry mouth

• Drowsiness and dizziness

• Headache

• Abdominal pain, indigestion, or constipation

• Nausea and diarrhea

• Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)

• Visual disturbances 

Serious side effects (contact a doctor immediately if experienced): 

• Chest pain or shortness of breath (may signal heart problems)

• Black, tarry, or bloody stools (may indicate gastrointestinal bleeding)

• Allergic reactions like hives or swelling of the face and throat

• Unusual bruising or bleeding 

Precautions and warnings

• Before taking: Inform your doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions, especially heart problems, high blood pressure, kidney or liver disease, stomach ulcers, or allergies to NSAIDs.

• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: It is not generally recommended for use during pregnancy, especially after 20 weeks, and should be used with caution while breastfeeding. Always consult a doctor.

• Long-term use: Prolonged or frequent use can increase the risk of serious side effects, such as damage to the kidneys and heart problems.

• Alcohol: Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medication, as it may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.

• Mental alertness: This medication may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how it affects you.
