More Details

This triple-combination medication—containing Acebrophylline SR (200 mg), Montelukast (10 mg), and Desloratadine (5 mg)—is primarily used to treat and manage respiratory conditions like asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and allergic rhinitis.

How Each Ingredient Works

  • Acebrophylline (SR): Acts as a bronchodilator and mucolytic. It relaxes the muscles in the airways and thins out thick mucus, making it easier to cough up and breathe. The "SR" (Sustained Release) formulation ensures a steady release of the drug over time for long-lasting relief.

  • Montelukast: A leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks chemicals (leukotrienes) responsible for airway swelling and mucus production.

  • Desloratadine: A non-sedating antihistamine that relieves allergy symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes.

Common Uses

  • Prevention and control of asthma symptoms (wheezing, chest tightness).

  • Managing COPD and chronic bronchitis.

  • Relieving seasonal or persistent allergic rhinitis.

Dosage and Administration

  • Timing: Usually taken once daily, preferably in the evening after food to prevent stomach upset.

  • Method: Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew.

  • Important Note: This is a maintenance medication and cannot be used for sudden asthma attacks. Always keep a rescue inhaler for emergencies.
